Superdry sells its Asia-Pacific assets to listed company in South Korea

Founded in 1985 in the United Kingdom, Superdry has grown into a world-known clothing company that combines American vintage with Japanese-inspired graphics. The brand inspires the contemporary style-obsessed consumer and leaves a positive environmental legacy on the world.

Superdry has entered a transfer agreement with Cowell Fashion Company Ltd. to sell its intellectual property (IP) assets in specific markets in the Asia Pacific (APAC) for US$50 million. 

Under the agreement, Cowell will own and use the Superdry brand in Asia Pacific, where they will start from its home market and extend to other regional markets, including China. This deal offers Superdry an exciting opportunity to expand their global reach. 

Cowell Fashion Company Ltd. has a strong position in the South Korean fashion goods industry. Cowell has been doing license business with global brands such as Calvin Klein, Lacoste, Adidas, Puma, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, and Emporio Armani.
